Training Webinar: Community Advocacy (with Center for Health, Environment & Justice

Community Advocacy can feel overwhelming in our current political, social, and economic climate, and even more so as it relates to environmental and climate issues. Using data from the Center for Climate Change Communication, speaker Andy Escobar will break down who Americans trust for information, how to make your advocacy efforts more effective, how to build community power, and which outreach strategies are most impactful.

Andy Escobar (he/they | el/elle) has been with the Coalition for Environment, Equity, and Resilience (CEER) since 2021 and currently works as Campaigns Manager. He was born/raised in Houston on the Jones Road Ground Water Plume Superfund Site in a working-class Tejano family. They became a First Generation college graduate from The University of Texas at Austin with three bachelor’s degrees and three certificates. He holds over ten years of facilitation and community organizing experience across progressive movements. They helped to co-create the first ever Harris County Climate Justice Plan.
