Welcome to He Sapa: A Living Legacy of Resistance (virtual roundtable)

A free virtual roundtable on the struggle to protect and reclaim He Sapa (the Black Hills), guaranteed to the Oceti Sakowin under the 1868 Fort Laramie Treaty. Lakota artists and organizers place today’s fights against mining and mineral exploration within generations of Indigenous-led resistance to extraction.

Featuring Madonna Thunder Hawk (Oohenumpa Lakota), Marty Two Bulls Jr. (Oglala Lakota), designer of the He Sapa billboards, and Taylor Gunhammer (Oglala Lakota), board member of the Black Hills Clean Water Alliance.
