Description
This webinar with Donora Smog Museum commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Donora Smog, an event that led to the creation of the Clean Air Act of 1963. The Donora Historical Society will present on the 1948 Donora Smog Disaster, highlight items within their collection, and discuss the social-historical context in Donora at the time.
After the presentation, there will be a roundtable discussion with CCJ partners about their organizations and a reflection on the Clean Air Act’s past, present, and future in relation to their organization’s work.
This event is being held ahead of the Donora Historical Society and Smog Museum’s 75th Year of Remembrance 2023 Environmental Symposium. We hope that community members will join us on October 18th in Donora, and you can RSVP for the Environmental Symposium by emailing your name, contact information, and number of attendees to: donorahistoricalsociety@gmail.com.
