Listserv Gateway Overview

First, a word of warning. These are conversations among adults and people from across a broad community. We are glad to introduce you based on the recommendations of leaders in HHN. Some of the most important discussions channels among the community working on the harms of fracking and gas and oil development are never on websites, blogs or easily accessible public channels.

Some of our best organizers, work only in email! In fact, Google Groups, listservs and email discussion threads are essential communications channels to get to know each other, asking for help, serve others, organize and have discussion.

Second, these discussions are often informally set up and are locally moderated and promoted via word of mouth. They can be hard to find and get plugged into the discussion. Many leaders that are a part of this network also participate in discussion or manage a group discussion of their own. If a new thread pops up as people organize let us know. New discussions pop up with new pipelines, threats, incidents, conferences, wells, etc.

Third, we want to do our best to help plug you into the discussions and also help those organizing the discussions more quickly add people they can trust. The lists are set up by volunteers or staff stretched thin. They want people to benefit form the work they do moderating the list but we want to make their efforts as easy as possible. Please fill out all the information they ask for and be nice.

Finally, these don't always pan out. They don't always last forever. Our data gets old over time. If the discussion is dead or worthless please let us know so we can stop recommending them to others.
