Not only does the Falcon Public EIA Project highlight the Falcon pipeline’s likely impacts to waterways, potential blast zones, ecological footprint, and proximity to hazardous industrial areas – it represents the first time public stakeholders have been given such a significant amount of time and detail to investigate a proposed pipeline.

Sam Rubright is the Manager of Communications and Partnerships for FracTracker Alliance. With FracTracker, Sam conducts and translates environmental health research for the website; nurtures collaborative relationships; manages FracTracker’s student internship program; and serves as the primary contact for media inquiries.

Sam obtained a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree in 2016 from Pitt Public Health’s Environmental and Occupational Health department, focusing on the effects of exposure to cyanide and hydrogen sulfide. Additionally, she has explored and advised on the impacts of extractive industries on communities and public health in Africa and Europe.
