I’ve been attending since I was a kid and it’s one of the early experiences meeting people fighting the pollution and destruction of extractive industries. Contact me if you want to meet up!Join thousands of musicians and music lovers at the annual Appalachian String Band Music Festival, affectionately known as “Clifftop.” This five-day celebration of old-time Appalachian music takes place at Camp Washington-Carver in Clifftop, West Virginia. The festival features contests, concerts, workshops, square dances, and camping, attracting participants from all 50 states and over 20 countries.

Highlights include traditional and neo-traditional band contests, fiddle and banjo competitions, and flatfoot dancing events. While organized activities abound, the heart of the festival lies in the numerous impromptu jam sessions that spring up throughout the campgrounds, often lasting through the night.
