Fractured: Holding politicians accountable

In March EHN.org published the ground-breaking results of “Fractured,” a two-year investigation into pollution leaching from fracking fields to the bodies of residents nearby.

In the weeks since, EHN.org’s reporting team, led by Kristina Marusic, has reached out to Pennsylvania politicians seeking a response. And several did: 35 signed on to a letter urging Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf to take action in light of “Fractured’s” findings.

But almost 30 did not respond or offered no comment.

It’s time to turn up the heat on those politicians and ask them to go on the record about fracking’s pollution and potential harm to state residents.

Reporter Kristina Marusic and executive director Douglas Fischer joined us for an update on the political fallout of this reporting and a discussion on how the community can apply pressure and demand action from politicians.
